Brynne Crockett aka BdotCroc was born and raised in North Minneapolis, Minnesota in a single-parent household with her two sisters, and has been rapping since the age of eight. Now at 21 years of age, she’s in college, and her writing abilities just keep getting better.
At 12 years of age, Brynne finally entered rap’s first stage as a freestyler, battling other lunchroom MCs for lyrical dominance. She would battle all the rappers in school that challenged her rap skills, leaving all battles undefeated. Straight through high school Brynne would surprise classmates with her confident assassin-style delivery, intelligent lyrics, and humble off-stage demeanor. During her battles you can always see the amazement on the faces of the crowd as they realize the depth of her lyrics. Bdot says “Being around so much music and constantly being challenged by those that had heard about me - made me even better”
Brynne AKA BdotCroc has always loved performing music from the time she was able to speak. But now she’s ready to take it to the next level, and the next stage – the world. She has put out publically two mixtapes, “No Clue” 2009, and “Massacre On Beat Street” 2010, and currently released an original project titled “InBetween Crowds” this summer.
BdotCroc has traveled to Atlanta, Georgia and won a talent show against their own hometown artists, and also has won a MC battle in her own hometown Minneapolis, MN against all males. It has shown no matter where she goes she is noticed for her lyrical abilities. Having performed at most the popular downtown venues, its safe to say BdotCroc is making her name known in her city!
In her own words: My purpose in music is to express myself and how I live, tell my story from my point of view without having anybody tell me what’s ok and what’s not ok to say. I think music is all about creativity and I’m very creative and unique which is why I say - nobody’s in my genre. I want to bring back female MC's full blast because I’m tired of watching music award shows with the females always being left out. I hope to make an impact on rap like it has made on me, and look to be someone that people see as a positive change.
BdotCroc has a perspective on life not often shared in the rap game.
