Available in: gb icon
Born in Milan in 1959, Guido Morini has a diploma in organ and harpsichord. He devoted himself to early music and deepened the study of basso continuo and improvisation.
The intense concert activity brings him to play with the best musicians in Europe. He has recorded some seventy records and several have won international awards. He founded Accordone with Marco Beasley in 1984. In 1985 he is a founding member, with Enrico Gatti, of the ensemble Aurora and, from 1991 until 1994, he is the harpsichordist of Jordi Savall. From 1998 he devoted himself to Accordone with whom he recorded a dozen live CDs for the Austrian radio (ORF). After the release of the CD La bella noeva at Alpha in the 2003, he designed, always with Marco Beasley, a discography trilogy on the Italian vocal music of XVI, XVII and XVIII century, released at the Belgian label Cypres: Frottole, Recitar cantando and Settecento napoletano. In the winter of 2010 came Frà Diavolo, a disc dedicated to the traditional music of Southern Italy for the new Accordone label: Arcana.
Guido Morini takes care of all the strumentals for Accordone and also creates a tailor-made repertoire for his ensemble. He has created concerts, shows, oratorios and sacred music. He wrote Una Odissea and Una Iliade (recorded at NBElive) on Marco Beasley's poetic tetext; Building Spiritus Vitae Vis, first part of trilogy dedicated to the Trinity, (Cypres). In 2009 follows Solve and Coagula, centered on the figure of Raimondo di Sangro, Neapolitan intellectual of the XVIII century. For his compositions Guido Morini uses a lenguage inspired by the canons of the Renaissance and the Baroque.
In 2012 he completes the second part of the sacred trilogy: Passio. on the latin text of passion according to St. John. With Accordone, returns to Alpha with the new cd Storie di Napoli.
