Albrecht Riermeier, born in 1951, first studied drums at the Päd. Hochschule Berlin, later at the HdK Berlin. He then attended Creativ Music Studio Woodstock, USA, and received a Vibraphone scholarship from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA.
In congenial interaction with musicians from different musical cultures such as Kamalesh Maitra, John Tchicai, Chris McGregor, Mikis Theodorakis, Ernest Mothle, Jiggs Whigham, Harry Beckett, Ray Anderson, Nippy Noya, James Newton, Anthony Brown, David Friedman, Jerry Granelli, Peter Giger, Okay Temiz, New Music Group, Michael Sell, Otto Sander, Heino Frech, Ruth Berghaus, Edward Vesala, Tom van der Geld, Dudu Tucci, and many others Riermeier has succeeded in producing numerous impressive productions with his colorful and multifaceted rhythm and sound palette. His projects have often redrawn and varied electronic and technical sounds. As a drummer, vibraphone player and percussionist he has played in various ensembles, orchestras and theaters. His tours have taken him to Belgium, Austria, France, Spain, Sweden, USA, Italy, Hungary, Turkey, Israel, USSR, Netherlands, Switzerland.
He passes on his knowledge and his many years of experience in theater and concerts to his students at the Music School Berlin Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf and the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin. He also accompanies in coaching seminars
various companies, such as Daimler Chrysler, Roche Diagnostic, Haniel AG, Solvay AG sequences of seminars with percussion, workshops and body percussion.
