One of the most original and brilliant pianists of his generation, Laurent Wagschal has distinguished himself for several years with his commitment to defend the repertoire of French music as well as some unjustly neglected composers. This is reflected in his warmly acclaimed press discography (Télérama, Le Monde, Diapason, Classica, Pianiste Magazine ...), composed of around twenty recordings, including: a disc dedicated to Gabriel's piano works Pierné; the 13 Nocturnes de Fauré; piano works by Florent Schmitt; the complete chamber music with winds from Saint-Saëns with the soloists of the Orchester de Paris (nominated for the Victoires de la Musique Classique 2011 in the category "Best Recording of the Year"); the Chausson Concert and Mendelssohn's Double Concerto with Nicolas Dautricourt and the Orchester d'Auvergne; Debussy's chamber music with the soloists of the Paris Opera; the complete works for violin and piano of Szymanowski with Nicolas Dautricourt.
Laurent Wagschal regularly performs on prestigious stages in Paris (Théâtre du Châtelet, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Théâtre Mogador, Musée d'Orsay, Radio France) abroad (Palace of Fine Arts in Brussels, National Auditorium of Music Madrid, Carnegie Hall in New York, Dongsoong Hall in Seoul, Tokyo Opera City Recital Hall) and in many festivals (Chopin Festival in Bagatelle, Midem de Cannes, Festival des Arcs, Black Périgord Festival, Presences Festival, Autumn in Normandy , Piano in Riom ...).
He has won several international awards and has already performed as a soloist with the Lamoureux Concerts Orchestra, the Pasdeloup Orchestra, the Cité Universitaire de Paris Orchestra, the Auvergne Orchestra, the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Poznan, the Classica Orchestra of Moscow or the Kaliningrad Orchestra.
