Cecilia Radic, an Italian cellist of Croatian origin, is one of the most appreciated performers of her generation. Definitively established in 1996 with the victory of the international "Premio Stradivari-Roberto Caruana" competition, since then it has performed all over the world, successfully alternating different roles such as soloist, chamber musician and first cello, and facing an extraordinarily vast repertoire, from Bach to Berio.
Having graduated with honors from the Conservatory of Milan in 1992, she had among her teachers Rocco Filippini, David Geringas, Mario Brunello and William Pleeth. After having won numerous prizes in international youth competitions, he debuted as a soloist in 1992 with the RAI Orchestra of Milan, with the Dvorak concert.
As a soloist, he has also played with the Italian Chamber Orchestra (with Salvatore Accardo), the Sicilian Symphony Orchestra, the Filarmonici di Verona, the Instrumental Ensemble della Scala and the Balkan Symphony Orchestra.
He has played for major Italian music seasons, including the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the San Carlo in Naples, the Accademia Chigiana di Siena, the Filarmonica Romana, Settembre Musica and Unione Musicale di Torino, GOG-Carlo Felice of Genoa, the Ravello Festival, the International Weeks of Stresa, the Friends of Music of Florence, Padua, Palermo, the MiTo Festival, the Musical Evenings and the Concert Society of Milan.
Her intense international activity sees her performing, as well as in the most prestigious European halls (such as the Royal Albert Hall, Gasteig, the Theater des Champs Elysées), in Japan (Suntory Hall, Tokyo Opera City, Bunka Kaikan Hall), South America ( Teatro Coliseum, Buenos Aires) and in the United States (New York Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center), where she has been a guest of the International Chamber Music Festival of Sarasota for many years.
He regularly collaborates with musicians such as Salvatore Accardo, Bruno Giuranna, David Finckel, Laura De Fusco, Rainer Kussmaul, Isabelle Faust, Jennifer Frautschi, Gabriele Pieranunzi, Derek Han, Massimo Quarta, Wu Han, Roberto Cominati, Alessandro Carbonare and Franco Petracchi.
In 2004 he founded Estrio, with violinist Laura Gorna and pianist Laura Manzini.
In autumn 2007 their first CD was released for the Foné label, with trios by Schumann and Shostakovich. Estrio has repeatedly performed at the Palazzo del Quirinale in Rome on Radio 3, also in the presence of the President of the Republic, Giorgio Napolitano. He has recorded both as a soloist and as a chamber musician for labels such as Decca, Chandos, Denon, CPO, Fonè, Amadeus. In 2009 he recorded Vivaldi's Double Concerto with Salvatore Accardo. He also has several radio recordings (including RAI, Radio della Svizzera Italiana) and television (Art'è).
For several years he has been the first cello of the Italian Chamber Orchestra and the Italian Filarmonici Solists. He has held the same role at numerous orchestras, including theaters such as La Fenice di Venezia, the Regio di Torino and the San Carlo di Napoli. He plays a cello Bernardel of 1837. He is a cello teacher at the "F.Vittadini" Institute of Musical Studies of Pavia.
