The first formation of the Quartetto d 'archi della Scala is historical and dates back to 1953, when the first parts felt the need to develop an important chamber music discourse following the example of the greatest orchestras in the world. Over the decades the Quartetto d 'archi della Scala has been the protagonist of important musical events and recordings; after a few years of break, in 2001, four young musicians, already winners of international soloist competitions and first parts of the Orchestra del Teatro, decided to revive this prestigious training, developing their already established musical affinities within the Orchestra , elevating them in the maximum chamberistic expression which is the string quartet.
Many of their concerts for some of the most prestigious concert associations in Italy (MusicaInsieme in Bologna, Serate Musicali, Society of concerts and season "Cantelli" in Milan, Associazione Scarlatti in Naples, Sagra Malatestiana in Rimini, Festival delle Nazioni in Città di Castello , Stresa Music Weeks, Asolo Music, Summer Music in Portogruaro, La Fenice Theater and Malibran in Venice, Ravenna Festival, Music Friends of Palermo, Bellini Theater in Catania, La Scala Theater Season, Teatro Sociale in Como etc.) and abroad (Brazil, Peru, Argentina, Uruguay, Japan, United States, Croatia, Germany, France, Spain, Austria, Greece, etc.).
They collaborated with pianists of the caliber of Bruno Canino, Jeffrey Swann, Angela Hewitt, Paolo Restani and Bruno Campanella as well as the likes of E. Pahud, E. Dindo and tenor J. Carreras.
Many of their first performances by contemporary composers such as Boccadoro, Campogrande, Francesconi, Digesu, Betta and Vlad.
In 2008 they made their debut with a concert at the prestigious Mozarteum in Salzburg and in the same year they received the "City of Como" award for their artistic commitments.
In 2012, following their tourne'e South American, they receive the critics award as best foreign chamber group.
They have recorded for the label DAD, Fone ', for the music magazine Amadeus, for the newspaper "La Provincia" of Cremona where they played the precious instruments of the museum and for Radio 3.
In 2011 their album dedicated to the quintets of Brahms and Schumann recorded for Decca was reviewed 5 stars cd Amadeus from the magazine of the same name.
