The Italian Philharmonic Solists , established in 2001, are known above all for their performances and recordings of the Italian instrumental repertoire and collect the legacy gained in long experiences first with I Virtuosi di Roma (1950-79) and later with I Solisti Italians (1980-2000).
All the members of the group have a remarkable individual concert activity behind them, they play as "first solo parts" in the major Italian symphonic orchestras and have been winners in some of the most important international competitions (Vittorio Gui, Viotti, ARD of Monaco, Paris, London ). The Italian Philharmonic Solists face a repertoire that originates in chamber music to reach the string orchestra, playing without conductor and providing a wide alternation of all the components in the solo and first parts roles.
Particularly worthy of mention in their international activity, which saw them as regular guests in North and South America, Japan and the Far East, South Africa as well as throughout Europe, are the invitations to Amsterdam (Concertgebouw), Berlin (Philharmonie), Bonn ( Beethovenhalle), Munich (Herkulessaal), Vienna (Musikverein), New York (Metropolitan Museum and Carnegie Hall), Washington (Kennedy Center), Chicago, Cleveland, Boston, Buenos Aires (Mozarteum Argentino and Teatro Colón), Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Paris (Salle Pleyel), Madrid (Auditorio Nacional), Barcelona, Milan (Quartet Society), Rome, Istanbul (Festival), Taipei (National Concert Hall), Seoul (Arts Center), Hong Kong, Tokyo ( Suntory Hall and Opera City), Osaka (Symphony Hall and Izumi Hall).
Their performances have been appreciated by the New York Times critic, Washington Post, Corriere della Sera, Suddeutsche Zeitung and reported in specialized magazines such as Diapason, Le Monde de La Musique, Fono Forum, Cd Classica and Amadeus.
They played frequently in concerts and tours with Kathleen Battle , Hansjorg Schellenberger , Milan Turkovic , Michala Petri , Mstislav Rostropovich , Andrea Griminelli . They have registered for the largest radio stations in the world. They have 12 CDs with different record companies (Denon Nippon Columbia, Decca, Cpo, Stradivarius, Meister Music and Altus).
