The Rhythm Junks (BEL) How symbolical, their first gig as The Rhythm Junks happened to be on Radio 1s Big Bang in 2004. In the meantime, these versatile born musicians have blown out an impressive list of memorable concerts (North Sea Jazz 2005 (NL), World Harmonica Festival 2005 (GER), Festa Della Magnolia (IT), Jazz Middelheims Funky Dance Night (BEL), ...) Most important, is the fact that out of this initially amusing project, by harmonicaman and singer Steven De bruyn (El Fish) and big band drummer Tony Gyselinck (VRT jazz orchestra), a tight band with a unique sound has grown. A sultry groove of alienated swing, 'mad camel' blues to fat funk, strongly spiced up with harmonica and forcefully blown out by a horn quartet with major lungcapacity. Their original and exciting debute album Virus B-23 was produced by Jo Bogaert (Technotronic, Gabriel Rios) and at this very moment theyre preparing for a second CD. Recently, Steven was awarded Best Musician 2004 by the Belgian Society for singers and musicians Zamu. >>> Sit still at this? Forget it! To all wallflowers, it wont help to put up a struggle now, against this stubborn virus, there aint no single antidote OOR >>> Heres a disc with a groove! No support from guitars, but from a complete horn-section. A swinging CD that makes you unconsiously move your hips.
