Scheitan (from Arabic الشيطان, aš-Šaiṭān for devil) is a gothic rock band, founded in 1996 by Pierre Törnkvist and Oskar Karlsson in Luleå. The band started out playing blackmetal but changed style through their career.

In 1996 the two musicians Pierre Törnkvist and Oskar Karlsson (ex-Gates of Ishtar) decided to found the Scheitan project. Together, they began recording their first song and sent it to different record labels. After signing a contract with the German label Invasion Records, the debut album Travelling in Ancient Times was released in the same year.
With Berzerk 2000 the second album of the band also appeared under Invasion Records in 1998. After the release of Invasion Records shortly after, the band moved to Century Media, where they released their third and last album, Nemesis. For Nemesis, Oskar and Pierre had brought on support in the form of singer Lotta Högberg and keyboardist Göran Norman. It was also noticeable that the Pentagram, which was on the first two albums, was missing on the cover of Nemesis.
In 2000, the band went on a hiatus. Oskar Karlsson and Pierre Törnkvist later founded the death 'n' roll band Helltrain. Scheitan returned in 2023 playing pure gothic rock, a natural continuation of the 1999 "Nemesis" album.
