"Stormhammer" is a German power metal band from Munich . The band was founded in Munich in 1993 under the name "Lizard". Since there was already a German southern rock band of the same name, it was decided to change the name to "Steamhammer" but once again encountered confusion with the 70s English Hard rock band. Finally, the more "metal" Stormhammer was decided upon.
They are currently (2016), founding members Manny Ewender (rhythm guitar) and Horst Tessmann (bass guitar) with new band members Jürgen Dachl (vocals) , Bernd Intveen (lead guitar) and Chris Widmann (Drums).
