Wa Wa Nee are a funk / synthpop / soul group from Sydney, Australia. Paul Gray (singer/keyboardist), brother Mark Gray (bass guitar), Steve Williams (lead guitar) and Chris Sweeney (drums) formed in the 1980's and had hit singles such as "Stimulation", "Sugar Free", "One And One" and "Blush" as well as two hit albums, the self-titled debut Wa Wa Nee followed up by Blush. The band also had a loyal fanbase regularly attending live shows. Recently, Paul Gray has been performing Wa Wa Nee songs on the recent Back to the 80's reunion tours along with Pseudo Echo and Scott Carne from Kids in the Kitchen (they are other Australian band contemporaries). The name of the leader singer is Paul Gray and he was born in Sydney, Australia. His influences are Brian Canham from Pseudo Echo and Mondo Rock .
