Charter 77 are a four piece band from Melbourne. The current line up has been together since November 2000. In that time the band has gained a reputation as being one of Melbourne’s hardest working punk bands.

After many years of relentless gigging the band decided to release their first proper full length album which was released on Trial and Error records in July 2005 This was to be the first street punk oriented release on the label which has been releasing the some of Australia's finest hardcore bands for almost 10 years.
