Two words can describe Escape Grace's sound: POWER DRIVEN. With elements of punk rock, metal, and good old fashioned rock and roll, this Gainesville, Florida based quartet blend a myriad of styles into an audio Frankenstein. Hamilton's massively manic yet intelligent riffs infuse elements of jazz and classic rock with his own artistically unconventional style, while McGrath and Nuhfer serve as a forceful pair pounding things into shape, creating a sound that is as dynamic as it is powerful. Add Harper's over the top, scalding screams and you've got yourself a certified rock and roll monster. The key ingredient to the solution, however, is originality, which comes in the form of snaky, winding guitar parts, off-time drumbeats, and bombastic vocal patterns. And while originality abounds, influence can be heard in the form of Helmet, Quicksand, and Black Sabbath to name a few. Sheer rock and roll attitude, and originality are the weapons they use to smash the labels applied to so many of the cookie-cutter acts found in punk rock music today.
