Artist Biography
Taxi Girl were a new wave french rock band formed in 1978 and disbanded in 1986. The group still has a very strong fan base in France and the 1980 single Cherchez Le Garçon was a big hit in that country. They were influenced by 60s and 70s rock/proto-punk bands such as Bob Dylan and the Velvet Underground, as well as 70s and 80s new wave/post-punk influences such as Joy Division and Kraftwerk. Today, the singer of the group Daniel Darc is making a solo carrier, as well as the guitarist Mirwaïs, who has recently produced the album Music for Madonna.
