Leon Giesen (Wood-Blerick, 1962) is a Dutch filmmaker, musician and storyteller. He is best known as the bassist of the former band Toontje Lager and is currently active with his music project Mondo Leone.
Giesen made several award-winning documentaries, including From America all the way to America about Rowwen Hèze. After a reunion performance by Toontje Lager Giesen noted that he missed the podium. In 2004, he decided that his music belonged with his movies in the theater. He brought a CD / DVD and began his theater, which still runs today. In 2004 and 2005 Giesen also appeared with Jack Poels on the project Holland America Line.
Another documentary that attracted over 2.3 million viewers in February 2012, the four-part series about Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Máxima.
