Artist Biography
Available in: gb icon
Born in Toulon, the son of Italian immigrants, Jean-Roch Pedri wanted to start a career in sports from a young age, dreaming of becoming a footballer. But life decided otherwise. At 16, his father died and Jean-Roch suddenly found himself thrown into working life and began working at the family restaurant. He had the artistic soul and decided to turn it into a nightclub: it was born, his first club, “La Scala” named after the famous opera house in Milan. This was the beginning of an epic tale that would take him from St. Tropez to Paris and then throughout the world, building and managing the biggest clubs. Hard worker and music lover, Jean-Roch considers himself primarily not as a businessman but rather as an enthousiast for art that has no limits and presents new challenges.

In 2004, Jean-Roch switched to a new adventure when he had to play in Bordeaux, in front of more than 400,000 people. He played his huge hit “Can You Feel It,” at that time, No. 1 in many countries. Jean-Roch became the star, the revelation! The thrill is such that he decided to leave the DJ booth and take the plunge, ‘microphone in hand’, finding his true mode of expression. Once again, Jean-Roch doesn’t hesitate to put himself in at the deep end, to go even further…

From there, he took singing lessons and started writing to express himself more freely. He then made a magical encounter with the singer / songwriter John Mamann and his team (JPHT, De Paris, ValTex, X-cell) that would take him in the right direction and give him the confidence needed to find his audience. The two men locked themselves in the studio, composing, writing & experimenting. Jean-Roch was shaping his style through the musical world. Their relationship was successful, the ideas flourished naturally, and mélodies flowed.

Jean-Roch looks in hindsight with sensitivity, maturity and humility showing slices of his past, present and future. His songs portray his multi-faceted personality; his ability to free himself through writing. The iconic album “Music saved my life” begins to emerge …

On this global album Jean-Roch is seen as a visionary.
Many of his tracks are duets with the most prestigious
American artists from the hiphop scene, including Snoop Dogg (St. Tropez), Busta Rhymes (Middle of Nowhere)
Pitbull (Cry), Kat DeLuna & Flo Rida (I’m Alright), Fat Joe & Amerie (Fly Away) Fatman Scoop (I See Your Light) & Lil Wayne …
All these fabulous artists agreed to participate, attracted by the quality of the melodies, production, and by the enthusiasm of its protagonist.

Like his idols Dave Gahan, Bono and Michael Hutchence, Jean-Roch has a rock texture to his voice, a speck in the bass, which gives the songs an authentic soul and a personal touch, as on “Cry “featuring Pitbull, who speaks with sincerity, modesty and the death of his father. Jean-Roch seeks above all to unite and capture the light he sees in us (“I see your light”).

Producers that he respects and admires are REDONE, SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA and the legendary DAFT PUNK. Jean-Roch defines his own style, developing his own ‘sound’, called ‘POP CLUB’ for an original album, whose first single, “My love is over” immediately became a hit in clubs everywhere.

Jean-Roch reveals and makes peace with himself in this album. Far from the clichés, he dares to mix genres and break boundaries. His music is in his own image ‘a balance between day and night.’

The second single “I’m alright” echoes these words with impressive vocals from Kat Deluna & Flo Rida. This trio gives it a strong “hip-house” feel.

When Jean-Roch was in the depths of a recording studio in LA, creating “St. Tropez” he decided to invite the great Snoop Dogg to sing with him. Adorned with an unstoppable refrain, Jean-Roch declares his love to the mythical village, which in his own words “has opened a window on the world.”

His first mode of expression was DJing which is why Jean-Roch remains very sensitive and attentive to the world and the expectations of the “dance floor.” He then called several renowned remixers, including Dutch Dj ‘Chuckie’ to provide a new energy to his songs. The remixed versions give a style more adapted to today’s club scene.

Finally, Jean-Roch’s faith in music wouldn’t be complete without his passion for the stage and performing ‘Live’. A true performer, his adrenaline builds at each of his appearances and the energy it spreads to the audience has come to give new meaning to his life, a new view on its history and its dreams …
