Vömmöl Spellmannslag was a radical left political-show group from Verdal, Norway. Founded in 1973 by Hans Rotmo. The band released "Vömmöl'n" (1974), "Vömlingen" (1975) and "Vömmølaaret" (1984) - as well as the compilation Vömmölmusikken (1996) which contained excerpts from all three previous records, excerpts from the music of Work Created hass Konrad Vömmölbakken and two newly written songs for the occasion.
The Norwegian songs depicted the life and various problems people in countryside of Norway had to contend with.
People move from Vömmöl-valley and down to the neighboring municipality to the south:
Porcelain (designated as a growth center with Highway and industry), and commercial forces constantly threatens to eradicate Vömmöl country-culture. This is excellent set in the formula with the following Inger Hagerup / Austvågøy-allusion: they sanitized their farms, they went away from their homes. Crisis condition had lasted almost a generation when "vömlingene" desided it was time to protest. The Vömmöl-records can be seen as a sign of the hectic political awarenesses generated by that took place in Norway from the late 60's and into the early 70's. The importance of Marxist class-conscious attitude is expressed. Significantly for Vömmöl and their break with celebrity is that they have kept their people, their names and careers outside the game. In addition illustrated their anti-capitalist attitude in that they gave out record on the record company in May, where the profits went to fund other people's albums which did not sell as well.
