Arena en los bolsillos is the first studio album by Spanish singer-songwriter Manolo García as a soloist. It was recorded at The Town House Studios (London) between February and March 1998, and released on May 4, 1998. It contains twelve unpublished songs, a free version of the theme Coal and Dry Branches and the instrumental version of Birds earthen. To date, it has sold around 900,000 copies.
Thanks to this album, the singer-songwriter Manolo García was awarded the 1998 Amigo Awards, the best male soloist and the best Spanish album, in the second edition of the Spanish Phonographic Association and Videographic Awards (AFYVE) awards.
In 1999 a box of six discs was published that included the six singles of the disc, besides the letters of their songs, songs in direct, musical rarities, unpublished photos, a poster and illustrations created by the own Manolo Garci'a.
In 2007, an edition of the album was published in digipak format. In June 2015 Sony Music Spain published an edition in double vinyl format.
